Fabulous Fall Getaways

Escaping from everyday life during fall is one of travel's greatest secret pleasures: the perfect climate, right ratio of visitors to locals, meals that celebrate the harvest bounty, and off season prices that make it truly affordable. With frequent school and work breaks for the Jewish holidays, Columbus Day, Halloween, Veterans Day and Thanksgiving, there's plenty of opportunity to take advantage of resort, tour and airfare discounts.

The Heart of the Florida Panhandle

We love to discover kid-friendly resorts that keep up with our ever-changing needs as parents, which is why Florida’s Hilton Sandestin Beach & Spa Resort gets a big thumbs up. While attending the TMS Family Travel Summit South Walton to hear new research about millennial family travelers, we could see how this hotel catered to them.

Introducing Family Camping To Little Explorers

When warm nights beckon kids to brave the wilds of the back yard and beyond, you'll need some recommendations and resources about family camping to get them ready.

Family camping is one of my childhood's great pleasures. But in this day and age, when horror movies and environmental disasters can make a vacation in the great outdoors seem frightening and unpredictable, parents need to prepare young children for the adventure. Camping with toddlers is great fun, especially if you follow these great How-To's by Gwynne Spencer for introducing the fine art of camping-out to kids.

Free National Park Family Programs

Combine a road trip with a national park visit for one of the top budget family vacations we know. Thanks to federal funding, the National Park Service has expanded all Junior Ranger programs to incorporate fun physical fitness activities with learning about nature. That means you can stay longer and engage with the parks, not just drive through them.

Our trip to the Sahara Desert in Morocco

We spent one night in the desert of Morocco.

We rode the camel from the Desert Luxury Camp to the sand bluff and then climbed the bluff and watched the sunset. Outstanding.

The Desert camp Merzouga was fantastic. Full bathroom and comfortable beds. The camels slept behind our tent.

Dinner at camp was delicious and wine and beer were offered.

The show in the evening at the campfire sitting on big comfy pillows watching the gorgeous sky was mesmerizing.
