The Worlds Most Famous Beach - Daytona Beach (By: Selbe Dittman) - My Family Travels

I live in Daytona Beach, Florida and it is definitely a city built for tourists. Here we have the boardwalk, the Daytona International Speedway, and of course, the beach. Personally, my favorite is the beach! There are tons of things to do here for tourists. You could be here for days and still not do everything. The first thing I would show a tourist that’s never been here before is the boardwalk. There are so many things in that small area that a lot of people could get overwhelmed. They have tons of rides like a Ferris wheel, hang gliders, and even a roller coaster! Not to mention all the arcade games you could play! I could stay there for days and playing games and getting fried food.
While walking down the boardwalk, you can watch the street performers, eat some dinner, and watch a band if one is playing at the Bandshell. There are always big events going on at the bandshell. In the past, we’ve had the Jonas Brothers play, and even Mitt Romney came here for his campaign! If you’re a big cheerleading fan, the Ocean Center is the Mecca for all the competitions.

There are actually a lot of historical things to see and do in this city. From Ponce Inlet to the Sugar Mill Ruins, you can learn a lot of history about this small town. If you’re a big hiker or climber, try your hand at climbing the lighthouse! Also, if you feel like driving a little ways, go down to St. Augustine and see the Fort, the Ponce de Leon hotel, and maybe even go on one of the infamous ghost tours!
Like any other city, we have our share of delicious local restaurants. You can get an array of foods if you know where to look.

All in all, Daytona Beach is a great place to visit for tourists. There are tons of fun and exciting things to do here! You can come with friends or family or by yourself! Either way, you’ll never be bored in the great city of Daytona Beach!
