Now, when most people think of a relaxing vacation, they usually think of places such as Florida, or the Caribbean. But might I ask, who thinks of a soothing summer holiday in such a small town as Easton; let alone the minute state of Connecticut? Well, I would: Seeing as I've lived here for most of my life. Not to mention the fact that I’ve spent most of those summers at home. But I believe that our small town is quite inviting and has much to offer those who want to experience something new. Instead of sitting on a beach, or climbing mountains, why not a nostalgic visit. In our little town, we have attractions that you can honestly say you’ve missed.

One of the most popular attractions in our humble village is the fresh apple and peach picking at Silverman’s Farm, where they provide a variety of the crisp succulent fruits. From the common Granny Smith to the luxurious and delectable Honey Crisp, Silverman’s has it. Throughout all of the seasons, you and your family can enjoy yourselves. Whether its pumpkin picking, to finding the perfect Christmas decorations in the winter you can always find something to do at this quaint farm. And you can tell the people here respect the farm as well as the customers who come to visit, solely by the time put into the information on their website (http://www.silvermansfarm.com/).

If you’re looking for a Christmas tree to go along with those newly purchased decorations, I would recommend looking at the selection of beautifully grown trees at a small place called Maple Row Tree Farm. I have to admit, this tree farm has become a classic tradition in our family not to mention many other families who occupy the town. And you can tell, because around the holidays there are hundreds of cars swarming in and out of the hilly forest marketplace, and I’ve met numerous people who have even said they travel from out of state just to get a genuine Maple Row tree. Just the atmosphere alone can invite a wandering soul to take a look; the wood fires sending smoke that lures one in, to the fragrance of hot chocolate warming you up just by the smell (http://www.mrfarm.com/season.html). All I’m going to say is that if you want a one of a kind tree picking experience, this is the way to go.

Now, I’ve realized that I’ve been focusing on events and places that occur during the winter, but this attraction is just for the summer. Every year, Easton has an annual Fireman’s Carnival that usually takes place from the end of July to the beginning of August. This carnival is where Eastonites are able to mingle and meet: And take it from me, as a community, we are very sociable and love to lend a hand to each other, as well as our neighbors. The carnival is perfect for teenagers and “youngsters” to visit, due to the fact that its kid friendly as well as it includes rides suitable for teens or young adults. I definitely recommend it to traveling families to check out this lively fair. (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Easton-Firemans-Carnival/114468351935448)

I’m not saying that Easton is the new Paris, but I need to admit, if you’re ever passing through; look around and bring back fond memories from the past. I think one of the nicest things about Easton is its convenience, and may even be known as the gateway to New England. And is located near New York, so if you’re ever nearby, stop in and check out the sights.
