Experience Seattle - My Family Travels
Seattle

Set against the beautiful Puget Sound, Seattle has a range of activities, sights, and opportunities for any individual. With our gentle climate, our eco-friendly community has incorporated nature into our artwork and scenery throughout the city, combining the natural with the modern. Seattle is an artful, calming destination with enough bustle to keep life moving.

Seattle has a variety of satisfying dining options. For a quick snack, Seattle is known for its abundance of Starbucks, a popular treat for the local community. For fine dining we have the famous Space Needle (www.spaceneedle.com) with a compelling view of the city to watch while eating.  A hidden gem is the Pink Door (thepinkdoor.net), another fine dining experience with Italian cuisine and Cabaret entertainment and culture. Seattle is also influenced by many Asian cultures, resulting in a large quantity of Asian restaurants around the city.

To tour the city, ride the Duck Tour (www.ridetheducksofseattle.com), which uses a land/water vehicle originally used during World War Two. If you would prefer a brief view of the city, ride Seattle’s new waterfront ferriswheel (seattlegreatwheel.com) to get a beautiful view of the Puget Sound and the city. Also near Seattle’s waterfront is Pike’s Place Market, an open-air market rich with local businesses and culture. At the Market you can admire bouquets of local flowers, taste unusual flavors of honey, and visit the first Starbucks ever built. For younger members of the family, the Pacific Science Center (pacificsciencecenter.org) is an interactive experience where you can learn about science in a hands-on environment. You can learn about astrology in their planetarium, understand chemistry by working with Science Center employees, see life-sized replicas of dinosaurs, enjoy a laser show, and see a movie in the Pacific Science Center’s IMAX Theater.

If you love nature, Seattle has multiple parks and beaches to visit. A popular hiking destination is Seward Park, with a waterside paved path but also many hiking trails through the woods. A beautiful beach destination is Alki Beach, with strong winds for kites and windsurfing, a selection of restaurants, and a wide path to walk along the Sound.

Seattle embraces people and nature. Its eco-friendly community finds large and small ways to help nature, such as strongly encouraging recycling and celebrating nature in our city. It is a very accepting community and embrace differences in culture and tradition. There is something for everyone in the family to do, while also being an ideal destination for a couple to explore. Come enjoy a cup of coffee in Seattle soon!
