Climbing to New Caledonia

The American flag waved above me as I paraded across stage with forty other Americans all wearing red white and blue. We were surrounded by the reds, whites, greens and yellows of twenty-six other flags and their flag bearers, all cheering for their home country. Reminding us all why we were on stage, a fifty foot tall rock wall covered in colorful plastic climbing holds loomed behind us. We waited on stage with anticipation for the next day when we would all climb on the wall to compete for the title of World Champion.

Nemo's World

Come aboard as three generations cruise along Australia's Great Barrier Reef looking for "Nemo" and his undersea friends -- and find them.

“Can we visit Nemo again?” asked my eldest son as he climbed into the large Jacuzzi spa with me. No, he was not talking about the movie, Trent was raving about the real thing: the clownfish that swim about in one of the greatest marine environments in the world -- the Great Barrier Reef.

Meet Melbourne, Australia’s Capital of Cool

Central Melbourne is filled with a gorgeous and eclectic combination of wide, easily walkable boulevards and narrow, graffiti-covered alleys. This contrast perfectly conveys what makes the city so diverse and fun. Australia’s second most populous city has a boastful number of excellent restaurants and a thriving art scene, all easily accessible via the impressive tram system -- even if located in one of the city’s many suburbs. A cosmopolitan metropolis, Melbourne is a must visit for families.
