An Unfortunate Day on the River

Skin blistering heat. River water moving as slow as an act of Congress. Disappointment after every turn from hope that we would soon reach the end. Our family’s much anticipated white water rafting trip was undeniably unforgettable, just not in the way we were hoping for. Having an outdoorsy army veteran as a father is not easy for someone as unlucky in nature as I am. Exploring the wilderness has always been a difficult task for my city-savvy, girly self.
