Kidzania Makes Play Out Of Work

Parents (practitioners of the helicopter style or otherwise), often fret about what their kids are going to turn out to “be” and how much influence they will have once they’re grown up.

A company like Kidzania dispels those fears by making play out of work. Each of the 23 Kidzania branches around the world offers children a play space filled with career opportunities, where children can costume themselves, handle tools, and otherwise engage in fulfilling – or less fulfilling – occupations.

Falling for Flowers at Italy's Infiorata Festivals

If you are traveling to Italy in May or June, you should schedule a visit to one of the famous infiorata or flower festivals. The infiorata are religious festivals held in various towns in Italy, using flower petals to create large and fantastic floral decorations on the street.

We recently had the good fortune to attend the infiorata in the charming medieval town of Spello, found in Umbria near Assisi and Perugia.

Meeting Banksy and Brunel in Bristol

The city of Bristol is located in the South West region of England, two hours from London. An historic city with maritime roots, it has been reshaped into a cool mecca of contemporary culture with arts, music, theater, and film performances.

Bristol’s history as a trading port dates to the 11th century and, by the 14th century, trade with Spain, Portugal and Iceland were established. Ships were also leaving Bristol to found colonies in the New World.

Relive The Wild West In Virginia City, Nevada

Virginia City, at its peak a bona fide frontier boomtown, is located in Nevada’s starkly beautiful high desert. It is under an hour from Reno and Lake Tahoe and approximately three hours from San Francisco. Although it’s close to modern diversions, a visit here feels like a step back in time. When silver was discovered in the mid-19th century, people from around the globe flocked to Virginia City. They were assured a good income working in the dangerous mines and could dream of striking it rich.

Who Says Las Vegas Isn't For Kids? On Strip Activities For Your Family

"In the end, kids won't remember that fancy toy or game you bought for them, they will remember the time you spent with them" - Kevin Heath

How true are those words? Think of your own childhood, you remember the memories made and the time well spent as a family more so than any lavish toys you had. Most people think Las Vegas isn't the place for kids but as someone who grew up in Vegas there is plenty to do with the kids.

Hilton Attracts Young Guests with Concert Series

Teens play an influential role when it comes to family purchases and vacations are no exception, as Hilton has discovered. Gone are the nostalgic days of my childhood, when my brother and I were content to stay at any motor lodge or campsite our parents chose. A motel swimming pool was a big deal and the sundaes at Howard Johnson’s our favorite treat.

Kiss those days goodbye.

Hear The Whistle Blow On The Grand Canyon Railway

Come aboard the historic Grand Canyon Railway for a comfortable trip through time between the Old West town of Williams, Arizona and the rim of the majestic Grand Canyon.

Until I met my husband, I had never heard of anyone riding a train.  I don’t mean riding a train to get somewhere, but riding it for the sheer pleasure; such as taking a weekend trip to Chicago and never going to The Art Institute, or stopping for Chicago-style pizza. Needless to say, this came as quite a surprise to me.
