Fine Food, Fast Cars, A Romantic Weekend Getaway

We were a little upset when we landed at Daytona Beach’s airport in central Florida: it was raining… hard. Not the most ideal scenario for a romantic weekend getaway for my boyfriend, Maurice, and me. A charming coastal community best known for its former Spring Break crowds and the International Daytona Speedway, we weren’t sure what this famous beach town could offer us with the dismal weather.  Surprisingly, between the fine food, fast cars and options for relaxation, we were in for a treat, rain or shine.

Fort Lauderdale is a Family Affair

With the fall season leading soon to winter – and hopefully another polar vortex to spur sales from the Northeast -- Nicki Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale C&VB, invited an audience of media and their kids to say, “Goodbye Chilly, Hello Sunny” in Fort Lauderdale.

She was in New York City August 21, 2014 at one of our favorite family window-shopping venues, Dylan’s Candy Bar, to promote the destination where, she claims, almost every one of the 1.8 million residents has a relative who lives in New York.

A Quebec City Weekend By Rail

Enjoy charm, history, music, adventure and great food - all with a French accent -during a weekend rail trip to Quebec City in Quebec province, Canada.

Many Americans think of Francophone Canada as a way to get a slice of Europe that's much closer to home, but you'll soon find that it has a unique charm of its own. Quebec City (QC) is a perfect example. Recently we had the opportunity to visit our neighbor to the north, and it was fantastique, albeit too brief.

A Poconos Waterpark That's Worth the Drive

Camelbeach is the Camelback Mountain ski resort's summer attraction and even on a grey day, when no amount of will-power could get the mercury above the mid-60s, Camelbeach proved to be fun, lively and family-friendly with plenty of activities that kept us moving instead of shivering!  After checking in with the friendly staff at The Chateau Resort, we made the very quick trip over to Camelbeach where our first stop would be a tour of the construction site that promises to be the largest and most versatile ski and indoor-waterpark resort in the Poconos.

How to Find Attractions, Shows and Family Activities at a Discount

If you're like our family, one of first things you do after searching for the coolest and most unusual attractions and events in town is find tickets. Finding tickets is great, finding them at a discount is even better. Who doesn't like a live performance, special festival, seasonally themed event or one-of-a-kind behind the scenes tour?  That's what can make the difference between an awesome and unforgettable trip, and returning home with the same happy vacation memories your neighbors have.
