Europcar International, cousin of the popular, moderately-priced car rental company that operates in Europe, runs 125 rental locations in 50 of Mexico´s major tourist areas. For 2011, families who reserve their vehicle online 15 days prior to pick up will receive a 20% discount on the entire bill.
It’s easy to find them once you land in the country: their green and white logo can be spotted in the top resort areas, from Cancun to Playa del Carmen, Oaxaca and beyond.
Europcar vehicles range from economical models to minivans, SUVs and cargo vans. With 72 hours’ notice, the company will even arrange for a car and driver for families who want to tour Mexico overland.
Europcar offers all the traditional services you’d expect from a big car rental company, but they also are thinking young. The company rents to drivers ages 18 and up, and charges young drivers between ages 18-25 only an additional US$7 per day for extra insurance.
New to the company’s fleet this year is the Smartcar, that tiny gem of an auto manufactured by Mercedes Benz that seats two very comfortably… and not much more.
But everyone would agree that it’s the most eco-friendly choice you can make for sightseeing.
For 2011, Europcar has super fuel-efficient SmartCars for rent in their Mexico City and Monterey locations. For more information, visit Europcar Mexico or call them at 01-800-201-11-11 and enjoy the great rates on the most economical of economy sized rides.
