Exploring the World Fulfills My Sense of Adventure-a Lifelong Quest for Knowledge and Culture - My Family Travels

In all my travels across this vast, blue planet called Earth, I have seen many of the world’s greatest sights: I have stood on the grounds where thousands of gladiators had once fought for their lives in the Coliseum; I have stared into the heart of an active volcano in Naples and felt its power beneath my feet; I have stood in the very footsteps of Napoleon Bonaparte on the Champs-Elysées beneath the Arc de Triomphe; and I have scaled the two tallest peaks in the continental United States.

During my journey I have made sweet melodies with a French guitar master in Paris, I have played piano in a concert hall and brought hundreds to their feet to sing, I have shared music with such artists as Go Radio, Mayday Parade, All Time Low and more, and I have taught myself how to play five instruments.

I have swum with dolphins, sea turtles, and stingrays, and I have ridden the most fearsome steeds in the Northeast. My voyages have led me to the heart of the Southwest, as I trekked vigorously for two weeks and over 100 miles through scorching deserts and blistering cold with only those supplies I could carry on my back. I have traversed miles of ocean water in a war canoe made from traditional island materials and spent a week on a desert island with limited supplies only to make the return trip in a small kayak in 100-degree heat against the wind and tide.

My hunger for knowledge, experiences, and understanding has led me to Europe, Japan, the Americas, and the Mediterranean; and my journey is still far from over. I have uncovered the magic of the Louvre, ventured onboard one of the world’s largest seafaring vessels, and befriended the most successful and beloved Sumo wrestler in all of Japan.

I have taught guitar to children of all ages, and brought smiles to many faces. I have mentored children through and through, I’ve even made a rhyme or two. I’ve explored ancient caves, and have ventured to the bottom of the ocean to investigate the most mysterious underwater wrecks. I have rescued endangered dogs and cats, and even operated on some.

My life has taken me high and low, through thick and thin, and nothing has stopped me from achieving my goals. Life is a constantly moving, ever-changing passage full of colors, sounds, smells, textures, tastes, and emotions waiting to be uncovered. Most importantly, however, life is full of blank spaces and inspiration, and the world is just waiting to see what next great innovation or work of art will come next. I have set myself on a journey throughout the world, its art, and its wisdom, to better myself and those around me.

I have done all these wondrous things, but I have not yet gone to college – this is where I will be this fall. While my short past has led me on a spectacular journey, I know that I have a lot to learn and much more to explore. I cannot wait to complete the next leg of my adventure, and I know I cannot do it without exploring the world.
