Bolivia a country that educated me to live in every situation that life has. I never thought that my life would change in a blink of an eye. Decisions changed my life, whether to move to the United States or either to stay in Bolivia. Two important actions that I experienced in making decisions in my internal life were “Dedication and Learning”. I was 12 years-old when I first heard of “English” language and learned that sometimes life needs to have changes even if we are not ready for a new journey.

It all begins when the sound of discussions come from my living room. I figure out that my dad had call. I faced toward my room to get ready to go to school, and I heard “Don’t get ready, you’re not going to school here anymore”, meanwhile my mom called me to sit next to her and started talking about the problem regarding the conversation she had with my father. My mom said “Your dad wants you to move to United States” At that time my knowledge wasn’t big and I had no idea about how different would my everyday life become since I was just a little kid. Later I decided to take the next step which was to be next to my dad after 10 years not seeing him. After not too long, everything was rapidly changing. I found myself with my luggage in my hands. I look at myself already inside the plane going to the one of the biggest countries in the world, the United States. The next thing I know is that I was close to meet my dad after many years. Arriving to the United States most of the people used a different language to talk, and I couldn’t explain the meaning of what were they saying. Suddenly I thought and imagine for moments how would be seeing my father again. However, after getting ready to pick up my luggage, instantly I felt a right hand on my shoulder “My son ready to go home” my dad said. Truly inside me I felt happiness because finally in so many years I was actually seeing my dad.

Although my heart still was nervous not knowing what is the next step for me to take, like what school was I supposed to go to keep growing with the right education, and how long would it take me to learn to speak the “English” language. Soon after, my dad enrolls me in a school. Learning English made me realize that in order to succeed I must do things on my own. I began to annotate with details every meaning of the words that I couldn’t understand. I furthered my knowledge in sections which were important to me. During this long journey I learned several new important experiences that made me who and what I am today. Not always has been easy and simple, many times I had to face obstacles in my school and the society around me. United States has showed me that families around the World are not always perfect; there is always an incident that life brings to every individual. I learned that trough effort and dedication the most difficult things could be overcome, perhaps even the hardest with a hard work and dedication. Learning to live and explore a new world were difficult, but my feelings promised me that every year I’ll be back where I was born, where I learned my early education and most of all where my mother raised me with an immense love.
