“Awaken your highest potential!” they claim. Unlike the P.T. Barnum’s of old, the Broadway Dreams program for young people interested in theater arts really delivers and makes the basis of a fun family vacation.

So, if you’ve got a family member who longs to star on The Great White Way – or just do a better job in the high school play – check out the Broadway Dreams website. You’ll see a variety of learning programs in which attendees get coached in acting, singing and dancing – the basics of live theater and the foundation for any career in entertainment.

Weekends of Star Training

Broadway Dreams Triple Threat Extremes, one of the most popular programs offered by the Broadway Dreams Foundation, is a weekend immersion that does much more than coach aspiring actors.

Building character, encouraging teamwork, critiques, sharing pain points and distributing praise are all part of the experience, and that’s what makes a mere weekend so transformative.

The Triple Threat Extremes run all fall and, in the example of Cleveland, are well priced at only $275 for the entire curriculum. For the 2017-2018 calendar year, Triple Threat Extremes have been scheduled for:

  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – October 7–8, 2017
  • Fort Dodge, Iowa – October 14–15, 2017
  • Los Angeles, California – A Master Class – October 29, 2017
  • Cleveland, Ohio – November 11-12, 2017
  • Winter Park, Colorado – February 18-19, 2018

Spend a Whole Week Becoming a Star

Summer Intensives are the basic learning block for dedicated young performers, who will spend a week in training, rehearsal and, of course — practice, practice, practice — with peers and Broadway Dreams faculty.  Intensives are available in “Acting for Stage and Film” or “Musical Theatre” with its focus on acting, vocal performance, and dance.

As someone who would like to learn how to stay in tune in the shower, I fell in love with the energy and passion that “Dreamers” (all attendees) displayed in the foundation’s video.

What You’ll Learn in an Intensive

Intensives travel to major cities, often settling into a local theater or university stage with a full Broadway cast of faculty, plus gear, in tow. These are all fun destinations, and the Broadway Dreams Foundation arranges local hotels and can assist families in finding age-appropriate attractions to stay busy during student sessions. This allows kids who come from around the US and the world to work together toward a formal showcase for an audience of industry professionals.

What is most impressive is the transformation that participants often undergo, coming out more confident , braver and willing to take more risks in their work.

The 2017-2018 Calendar of Intensives

Are you intrigued? I am most excited by the fabulous faculty – some of whom I have seen perform in New York cabaret theater.  Parents will appreciate that they come from a wide variety of backgrounds and all have professional success in common – making them great role models for your aspiring stars.

  • Auckland, New Zealand – January 13-21, 2018
  • Fortaleza, Brazil – March 26–April 1, 2018
  • Los Angeles, California, July 8-14, 2018
  • Calgary, Alberta, Canada, July 21-29, 2018
