In the beginning of August of 2010, my family and I went to Florida for a week on vacation. This would be our last family vacation before I was to start school in Tennessee. We departed from Denver International Airport and flew to Atlanta Georgia. At the Atlanta Airport, we rented a car and drove to Florida. We planned to stay a week in Kissimmee Florida and visit several attractions while we were there. We would be combining our stay in Florida with a Quinceañerafor the daughter of some good friends.
The first place we visited was to a small amusement park in Kissimmee called Fun Spot USA. While we were there, we went on some go-carts where the track was 2 or 3 stories high. They also had a Farris Wheel and some arcade games that guests could play.
We spent one whole day at Disney World, The Magic Kingdom. We had a good time walking around and visiting the different locations around the park. I got myself a signature book to get some signatures from the people dressed up as different characters. One bad thing is on our way out after the fireworks, my mom tripped and fell on a curb and banged up her knee really bad and also ended up breaking her glasses.
The next day we went to Sea World. My mom drove around on one of the motorized carts because of her knee. She had fun with that because she could go faster than the rest of the family for a change and she was the one that ended up having to stop and wait for us to catch up. The whole family enjoyed some of the different shows that were going on, and I went on a roller coaster as well.
On the next day, we went to Daytona Beach, were we just hung out for the day. My dad and I rented boogie boards and went boogie boarding for a while. There was a little island a little ways out that you could walk out to, going through a little portion of the ocean to get there. We enjoyed playing in the ocean and in the sand at the beach. We had to leave earlier than we planned when a storm started to roll in.
At the end of the week, we went to our friend’s Quinceañera. A Quinceañera is a formal party in the Latin American culture held for a girl when she turns 15. My sister was invited to participate in this party, so this was one reason why we attended the party. Our friends had rented a Limousine to take all the kids that were part of the party from their house to the hall. After the ride, we all went to the place where the Quinceañera was held and the party began. The following day we left Florida and took me up to Tennessee to leave for school.
