Trapped….I've been trapped in this car, traveling 80 miles an hour for 12 hours. I wish i could say that I slept through them all but the truth is, my anxiety forced me awake all 720 minutes and 758 miles. I stared out the window during our tour through Pennsylvania. I shut my eyes in fear as we crossed bridges in Maryland. I jumped up and down like my 7 year old brother as we zipped through Washington. I sang songs while we dashed though Virginia. I counted the farmlands as we motored through Richmond and once we arrived at South Carolina, I was ready. Ready to enjoy a week of sun, fun, beach and relaxation.
We arrive at a beautiful condo in Myrtle Beach called the Sunrise. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a nice kitchen, a large living room with a huge television and a deck over looking the ocean. My thoughts, GREAT JOB MOM AND DAD. While my parents set up the rooms and unpack, I race down to the beach..Bathing suit ready and armed with sun block, I'm ready to battle the sun god. This is the life. 7 days of paradise and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. Trapped for 12 hours and free as a bird for 7 days.
I don't believe in reincarnation but I must've been a fish in my past life. I hit the waves and submerge into the ocean as if i was part mermaid. The water was so warm and clear. Boogie board! I must buy a boogie board. And sandals! The sand was extremely hot. After about 2 hours, I walk up the pathway and into the pool lounge. After a quick survey i find my chair and commence to bake. Yes, this is the life. I've been coming to Myrtle Beach for the last 3 years and love every trip. Do i recommend it to others, Heck YEAH. Trapped but now I'm freed and I'm loving every second of it…
