My community, West Palm Beach, Florida, is the up and coming destination for families looking for a beach getaway. West Palm Beach is located in south Florida about an hour away from Miami. This means that the city has all the amenities of the beach lifestyle without the crazy nightlife of the big city. There are many different beach options here but my favorite place to catch some sun is Palm Beach. The quaint island is the home of celebrities such as Donald Trump and Rod Stewart. If you get the chance, you can even have lunch at Trump's famous property, Mar-a-lago. When you are not lounging on the beach or dining with the stars, take the family downtown to CityPlace for shopping or to see a new movie. CityPlace is great for the kids because there is a Family Day of Fun held once a month with face painters, games, and favorite characters.

West Palm Beach is very supportive of the Arts. The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts holds weekly performances such as musical talents and ballet and theater shows. Lake Worth is known for its many art galleries and and locally-owned stores. Every year, thousands of artists cover the street in paint for Lake Worth's Street Painting Festival. The city itself is a display of art, in the art deco style architecture. This style is very fun and playful, showing the city's love for art.
West Palm Beach is a great destination for couples looking to get away for a weekend but an even better place to bring the whole family. There are three zoos, three water parks, a major league baseball stadium, and plenty of tours and museums to entertain the kids for days. You can even go horseback riding on the beach! It is a simple and easy going city that feels like a small town even though Palm Beach County is the largest county in Florida. It is enriched with culture and heritage, from the Ann Norton Sculpture Garden and Museum of Art to the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. Your children will enjoy every minute of their vacation to West Palm Beach and you will still get the opportunity to relax on the beautiful beaches. What are you waiting for?
