Q – Steve M of Sudbury, Massachusetts writes: We need some suggestions for a luxurious resort in Hawai’i where we can to with our two teens (ages 15 and 17) and our toddler (age 2). My wife and I have traveled quite a bit and have been to Hawai’i several times. We must have a suite so my wife and I can have some privacy, and 2 full baths are desired, although 1 1/2 will do. Another requirement is an ocean view. Our oldest is off to college next year, so we want this to be a special vacation. We want to make sure there are lots of activities (we are an active/fit family), especially for the teenagers, who are especially interested in watersports, pool time, basketball, exercise and horseback riding and meeting other teens.
A – You have written that you’ve been to Hawai’i before, but didn’t mention the resorts you have stayed in, so I’ve pulled together some stories from our site with possibilities for you to consider:
The Four Seasons name is synonymous with luxury, excellent food and incredible service. Their property on the Big Island offers a Teen Lounge and a climbing wall, and you can read more about it by reading our story on “Four Seasons Hualalai.” “Four Seasons Maui at Wailea” offers scuba clinics and a seasonal teen program, so check with the resort for dates after reading our review. Two winners of our 2006 awards for the “Top 10 Getaways for Luxury Travelers” are in Hawai’i. Read “Grand Wailea Resort Hotel and Spa, Maui“ and “Four Seasons Resort Lana’i at Manele Bay“ to learn why.
Also on Maui, which may be the most popular island for teens, check out the following resorts focused around Lahaina (a teen’s haven): Westin Maui, Hyatt Maui, and Sheraton Maui all of whom cater to families.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Does anyone out there recommend the Four Seasons Maui for teenagers or should we go next door to the Grand Wailea?
