Star Trekking: Katy Perry Heads to Atlantis Paradise Island - My Family Travels

Pop princess Katy Perry’s newest single “California Gurls” is currently on its way to becoming the hottest jam of the summer. In addition to burning up the charts, Perry will be making a splash this July at the Atlantis: Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas.

On July 17th, currently her only scheduled summer tour date in North America, Perry will perform for the Atlantis Live concert series. Concertgoers will of course get to hear Perry sing “California Gurls,” but in addition they’ll get to hear new songs off Perry’s highly anticipated new album, Teenage Dream, which is scheduled for release on August 24th.

Atlantis Live is a concert series that aims to bring top performers of various genres to guests of the resort. As an added bonus, many of the concerts are outside on one of the resort’s picturesque beaches. In addition to Perry, this summer’s concerts feature artists such as Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum.

An ocean-themed resort, Atlantis: Paradise Island offers many different types of accommodations. Among the resort’s dizzying array of activities are the Dolphin Cay, where you can get up close and personal with friendly dolphins, Aquaventure, the biggest water park in the Caribbean, snorkeling, pools, beaches, golf, and a casino. You can learn more about their programs for kids and teens in Felicity Long’s writeup of the new Atlantis AKA.

The Atlantis: Live concerts are only one part of the various entertainment options at the resort—there is also a comedy club, a theater, and much more.
