Oprah Winfrey, the popular talk-show host, billionaire and philanthropist, may not have children to travel with, but she still surrounds herself with family.

She lives with her long-time boyfriend, PR Rep Stedman Graham, and several dogs.

She is well-known for her close, controversial friendship with Gayle King, Editor of Oprah’s O magazine.

She likes to take her audiences with her on new adventures, introducing them to the world’s wonders.

She teaches fans a love of reading by promoting her own book club and favorite authors.

Oprah’s deep commitment to spirituality and philanthropy have also lent to her connection with children and families.

Now, the world’s most popular talk show, the Oprah Winfrey Show, is about to enter its last season on television. The producers are starting its newest tour, “Down Under” in Queensland, Australia, and will feature a group of hand-picked audience members at each talk show taping.

In preparation for the series, Oprah’s first stop on December 8, 2010 was on the Great Barrier Reef of Hamilton Island. In the few weeks since, she has attended a beach party on Whitehaven Beach with The Ten Tenors and celebrity chef Curtis Stone.

Showing off her love for animals, Oprah was photographed holding Elvis the koala (as seen above) on her Queensland trip. Hamilton Island is not only home to Elvis the koala, but also pristine white silica sand beaches and luxury accommodations.  The island provides several activities including sea-kayaking, game fishing, scenic helicopter flights and ‘Breakfast with the Koalas’ at the Koala Gallery.

Isn’t your family interested in supporting a cute furry family of koalas? Roundtrip flights from Los Angeles to the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland for winter 2010 (summer in Australia) start at $1,198 per person, a great family value available to Oprah followers.
