Church Camp

The best trip I had ever taken was to church camp 2 years ago. The year before was my first year so I didn’t really feel accepted but that year was a life changing year.When I first got to camp I looked for one of the friends I had made Sarah. I was the first one there so I knew it was going to be a while before she and everyone else got there but when her church bus arrived she wasn’t there.

So the first day was a drag because I had to remember who else I remembered from the year before.At our night service Tuesday she showed up. I picked her out the second she entered the door. I ran up to her and started flipping out because I was so glad she was there.

While were waiting for church to start we got to talking and she explained why she wasn’t taking part in the camp this year. She had un expectantly gotten pregnant, at age 16, I was so shocked. She went on saying that her boyfriend didn’t want her there because she would tell everyone what had happened.

She was so sad and we both started to cry.At the end of the service we get a chance to go up to the alter and ask for Gods forgiveness. I walked up to the alter with her and we prayed for about 10 minutes just asking God to watch over her and her baby-to-come.That moment showed me why I had her in my life and she had me. I almost didn’t go to camp because I was busy the weekend before and after so I was going to miss a day but I still went.

I was lucky to have her to show me how life can be so unpredictable and she had me to comfort her and not judge her. I don’t see her much but I am always thinking about her and her beautiful baby. This moment also drew me closer to God believe it or not.

It showed me that I can always go to Him with my problems and he will always forgive me and give me friends to help me out.
