In my 21 years old, Now I can say that I have traveled a lot but not enough. My last trip was made to another dimension. I ventured to another country to get my victory and reach one of my biggest dreams, to be a nurse. My trip is not long in miles, nor too far from my home, either I do not have to take a plane. My trip was undertaken in 2006 when I decided not to give up and meet with what I am looking for, be a professional person. You may wonder what was my destination of my journey. I had traveled from San Luis, Sonora, Mexico to Yuma, Arizona. Yes, the path from San Luis to Yuma is barely an hour of distance because both cities are in border.  Although it seems like a short road, and it does not seem like a really travel, it is. I will explain why it is a trip and an adventure, their motives, experiences, and achievements.

My trip was made as I commented earlier in 2006 few months after completing high school in Mexico. To be honest, I never imagined this adventure before. The year I finished my high school, I began to seek opportunities in my country to study what I want to be, a nurse.  The first flight was from San Luis, Sonora to the University of Mexicali, Baja California called UABC. Despite my efforts to study there, I did not have succeed. The universities in México limits you to continue to study not only because people have no money to pay for their studies, but you are limited by testing your mental ability with tests for admission, and the worst thing with limited vacancies. My destination was I did not pass the test for admission although I studied like crazy for that test. A terrible disappointment!!! Well, this  situation made me keep looking throughout my country from San Luis, Sonora to Hermosillo, Sonora. Other adventure with the same procedure, my illusions, my desire of study in a university, I studied to much, and finally a decepcion because I failed again my test for admission. Another defeat that made me go home. When I failed by second time, I disappointed too much of myself , but there was someone who traveled with me to those two destinations and was a witness of my efforts, my mother. She saw everything and gave me strength to make another trip. That is how I traveled from San Luis, Sonora to Yuma, Arizona. The procedure was different from the other two. When I made this trip, I had little hope to continue studying, but when I arrived to my destination “Arizona Western College”, I felt that it would be different. That day changed my life. The result of this trip was acceptance from that college, my new illusions, and my new life like an International Student.

As a result of that short trip, I have been traveling constantly during the weeks from San Luis, Sonora to Yuma, Arizona. Since 2006 until these days , I have crossed the imaginary line between the both countries following the path with enjoy and desire to continue to reach my goal. That trip has  given me the achievement to study in a university, and to progress in my studies.  Besides, I have had new experiences with customs, traditions, and history of  United States of America. Also, I have had difficulties of misunderstanding by the language, and money problems. Although I live at the border, it is not well known the traditions, custom, and so on to your next town if you are not part of  its society. Despite I  study at Arizona Western College, I  have not achieved the most important thing for me being a person who reached the dream of becoming a real nurse and not just a imaginary nurse in a child game.
