Trump Soho New York is pleased to announce that it has started its y.e.s. program, Young Entrepreneurs Soho, an extension of Trump Kids that is open free of charge to local residents. The program offers children 3 to 17 years special access to events and amenities that are fun and educational. Events include film screenings at the Children’s Museum of Art, etiquette classes, cooking classes, beauty days at the Spa at the Trump, and more.

After registering for the program, y.e.s. members will receive personalized business cards and a subscription to a quarterly newsletter about family-friendly events New York City. Past guests can join in whenever they return to New York City.

And, coming soon is the Trump Soho Kids Shopping Card that will provide insider access and exclusive discounts to the neighborhood’s best clothing boutiques and toy stores. Members are encouraged to mention membership to receive special amenities such as in-room access to milk and cookies, a personalized child-sized robe, and more.

Kids' Spa Day for SoHo Kids

Recently, y.e.s. had a free Kid’s Spa Day where there was a bath salts workshop, tattoo station, massage table, face paint, and manicures with nail art. This Spa day for both boys and girls who live in the neighborhood surrounding the Trump SoHo New York was designed so they could relax and enjoy themselves. (Although it was designed for all kids, young girls were a majority; only a couple of boys were seen). It was hosted on the seventh floor, at the entrance of the spa.  Snacks provided consisted of brownies, chocolate cookies and other baked goodies. Drinks were a tad healthier — ice tea and melon-berry.

Everyone enjoyed the bath salt workshop, led by a very energetic and kid-friendly lady, who asked us to choose one scent out of a possible five (orange, mint, lavender, vanilla, and honey dew); then a dye to give the salts some color. These salts can be used for a DIY manicure or you can have the scent lull you to sleep. By the end of the day, kids got more creative and decided to have rainbow salt jars by making layers of different colored salts and combining scents.

The massage table set up at the event was a hit or miss for kids. Some did not care to try, while those who did loved it, encouraged others to try, and went back for more. Neck, back and shoulder rubs were given. Almost everyone got a temporary tattoo (the kind you have to press a wet napkin to).

Manicures (only nails were painted) were greatly enjoyed by girls and one boy. Many showed off their nail art and lines formed as girls patiently waited for their turn.

The face paint was incredible due to artist’s great skill. Girls had beautiful hibiscuses or rainbow designs drawn on their arms. One boy had a Batman bat covering his entire face while another had his whole face painted like a tiger. The paint was incredibly easy to wash off afterwards — not that the kids wanted to take it off anytime soon.

If the events offered will be similar to the Kid’s Spa Day then it is indeed worth it to register with them as all the kids here were having fun, and not afraid to talk to others.

Registering for SoHo Kids Spa Days

To register you need to email [email protected] with child’s name, birthday, parent’s names, mailing and email address, and any food allergies. And remember you need to be a resident or owner in the neighborhood or a hotel guest to enjoy these free y.e.s activities for kids, which will be held regularly.

Guests who spend the night will find many family amenities at the Trump SoHo New York hotel. For example, The Spa at the Trump is offering young hotel guests their own Signature Kid’s Bath, a “delightful and relaxing” Bubblegum Bubble Bath. For $35, a spa attaché will come up to your room or suite and prepare the bubble bath with lights, fizzies and bath toys.

For more information on family activities for neighbors and hotel guests, you can go directly to the Preferred Family Hotels site.
