Nation’s Top Family Travel Media Invited for Second Honeymoon in Niagara Falls, New York
Third TMS Family Travel conference for leading media focuses on building brand across channels in the fast-growing segment of leisure travel.
(New York, NY September 11, 2013) Niagara Falls, the honeymoon and romance capital, is embracing family travel. The host destination for the third TMS Family Travel Conference recognizes that the romance isn’t over when kids and grandkids arrive, and is wooing top media to prove it.
TMS Family Travel Conference organized by TMS Family Travel, Family Travel Forum, Taking The Kids and the Niagara Tourism & Convention Corporation, will be held September 20-23, 2013 at New York’s Sheraton at the Falls Hotel. More than 40 leading family travel writers, bloggers, broadcasters and social media luminaries will be in attendance along with representatives of destinations and tourism organizations that value and market to family travelers.
“Traveling families make-up a large portion of the vistorship to Niagara USA, and with Niagara Falls, NY being a top 10 domestic destination (according to MMGY Global/travel horizons), it made sense that Niagara USA host the TMS Family Travel Conference,” said John Percy, CEO & President, Niagara Tourism & Convention Corporation. “We look forward to showcasing the entire region, especially our new attractions, to this group of top family travel writers.”
Skill building sessions at the conference are designed to help media strengthen their own brands and get more exposure for their travel stories, whether with video, radio, social media, photography, blogs or other digital media.
“We’re thrilled to be able to showcase upstate New York as Gov. Andrew Cuomo promotes tourism there,” said Kyle McCarthy, CEO of the Family Travel Forum. “The governor recently announced the state will invest nearly $60 million including advertising upstate destinations on New York City buses, trains and subways.”
“As Baby Boomers retire, multigenerational travel is emerging as a major travel trend and Niagara Falls is sure to benefit from it,” said Eileen Ogintz, nationally syndicated columnist, author and creator of Taking The Kids.
Among the featured speakers are travel editors of the Los Angeles Times (Catherine Hamm) and USA Today (Veronica Stoddart) as well as National Geographic Traveler editor-in-chief and author Keith Bellows.
Sponsors of the TMS Family Travel Conference represent every segment of the travel industry from cruise lines to theme parks to snow resorts, tourism organizations, hotels and resorts.
