Hi, I wouldn’t advise you travel with your kid for the first time. Since it’s an eco tourism, you might have to visit lots of remote areas which aren’t all safe. To be on a safer side, you can restrict your travel to the city side and avoid traveling to the remote parts all together.

Hi
Has anyone any experience of travelling in Ecuador, Peru and Guatemala with children? Mine are 12 and 14. We are looking at eco tourism if possible, sustainability ,local experiences, volunteering and the nature aspects.
From what I am reading about Ecuador I do have some safety concerns. Would anyone recommend travelling there with children?
Other countries we have decided on are Costa Rica and Belize. We also are pretty sure about Brazil. although I did read in antoher forum that Rio is not recommended right now. We are used to city life and the common sense that is needed but also want to be sensible about the risks.
Any advice or info gratefully received.
Thanks -
