My name is Michelle Norden and I love taking road trips. One of my favorite ones is when I was in volleyball and my team had to go up to Gillette for a tournament. We had to be up and on the bus by six in the morning. The trip there was so fun, everyone was listening to their iPods and when the bus driver turned on the radio we were all singing the songs that came on. As soon as we got there we stopped to eat and everyone got our food to go, we all just wanted to get to the hotel that we were staying at.
At the hotel we changed quickly for our first game. I think that we won it and after the game we all went back to the rooms. I shared a room with my friends, Taryn and Jasmine.
We planned to stay up for most of the night but it didn’t happen. We ended up passing out on the beds at midnight that night. We had pizza all over the floor and cards on the bed. It was a fun night overall though.
That next day we woke up at 7 and go ready for our games. We had 6 to play that day so we needed to be prepared for them. The games were really fun though, I got to play in every one of them, and I think we lost two and won the rest. It was a good tournament and my coach was proud of all of us. I was very proud of myself that day too because I knew that I did well in the games. We were so tired by the time we got back on the bus that mostly every one passed out in the seats. I know I was asleep for most of the ride home; I couldn’t wait to get back to the school and get into my car though.
It seemed like we were on the bus for longer than three hours, after I woke up there was still about an hour left to go until we got home. I couldn’t believe that I only slept for two hours, it seemed longer. The rest of the bus ride was really quiet, but all I could think about was getting to my car and going home. Overall it was a fun trip, especially the fact that we won most of our games too.
