Many adventures bring miraculous experiences and unforgettable memories to an individual. These events are capable of marking a person’s life and recognize the start of a new beginning. Interacting with another culture is a very difficult task, there are a diverse amount of beliefs and people view various deeds in different ways, but merging with another culture was an act I knew I was forced to take. Thirty gruesome days was the time I had to spend in Mexico, thirty two to be exact. Here was where I had one of my life changing experiences. I was able to discover a different culture and behold different sites of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, leaving me with a special perspective of Mexico and its creative traditions.

Travelling to Mexico was a torture for me, I hated the fact that I was being hekd against my will, I couldn’t stand the idea of having to set out to a country that in reality seemed very dull. My family and I went to a plaza in Mexico called, “La Macroplaza,” it looked a nice and mellow tourist park, but stepping out of my van alternated that image, breathing the park’s hot humid air made me all sticky, and made me feel as if I were in a hot, steamy sauna. Being with my family was my only comfort, and all I wanted was for this tedious event to be over, but my opinion changed with my experiences. I got to see many astonishing places, one being a beautiful cathedral, I was amazed when I saw this divine building, it angelic figures made me realize how pure and holy Mexico could really be. Another building I got to see was “El Palacio de Justicia,” it was really fascinating because a building which used to hold elected government officials, and the pr4esident himself, was standing right before my eyes. I later learned that this palace held unbelievable stories, and if that building were able to share its tales, it would answer many erroneous questions.

“La Explanada de los Niños Heroes” was very intriguing, because many kids were dressed with different clothes of diverse Mexican cultures. A traditional dance was performed by the children, it was wonderful watching kids follow their traditions in such an early age. This was an event with great significance, because it allowed me to gain more knowledge of Mexican customs, and get a deeper understanding of Mexico’s culture. Out of all the sites I visited in Mexico, however, the figure that attracted my attention the most was, “La Fuente de Neptuno.” This breath-taking fountain stood right in the middle of the park, it was as if it were symbolizing Neptune’s leadership and strength. This created an image of power in Mexico, I had never seen anything as symbolic as this. I was enthralled with this scrupulous fountain the moment I saw it, every detail intrigued me, the mermaids, angels, and Neptune himself were very captivating. I couldn’t believe how my opinion about Mexico changed in a second. I thought about having to go back to Houston in a couple of days, and it made me want to wander off in Mexico’s delights even more, but I knew the time to go back was near. My experiences in Mexico were very intriguing, and all I wondered was when I would have another astonishing incident, like the one I got a chance to live.
