Canada - My Family Travels

When my aunt Laura called from Canada and asked if my sister and I could visit, I did not know what to think. Going somewhere, completely new for the first time can be hard. My sister and I were traveling as minors, so that was also a struggle. During the flight, I met this lady that took so many pictures and i was happy that she had a taken one of my sister and I. When the plane landed in Toronto, Canada, I was so amazed and quickly realized how different everything was opposed to life in California. I was ecstatic that I would finally see all my family i have been dying to meet. Leaving behind my life here, to go somewhere else, was the best thing. Not knowing somewhere familiar to me was the worst thing.

As we went places, I would be in the car adhering my surroundings and figuring everything out. As I observed there were so many different ethnicity and cultures, I started talking to different people and asking everyone questions. Most of the people there appeared to be some of the most pleasant people I have ever met before. One of the things that intrigued me the most, was that you have to pay for the grocery carts. You insert a quarter, shop, and then you receive your quarter back after you return it. In California, if we would do that, we wouldn’t have averaged about thousands of missing carts a year from various stores. Also, the milk you bought came in a bag. When you get home you punch a hole in the corner, and put it in a pitcher.

I did not like the weather. In California, it is usually very hot, but in Canada it was rainy and storming basically the whole trip. I was kind of letdown that i couldn’t bring my whole closet, but I loved the shopping malls! Shopping is one of my favorite things to do, so when I came back at the end of summer i had all these different brand clothes. it made me feel proud of myself to be different.

My auntie Laura went to church a lot. In California, my mom is working so much that we never have the time to go to church. This was a experience that I enjoyed because I built a relationship I never thought I could build. Relationships last when you put the effort into making them. Now I have this stronger relationship with God that  never would have if i didn’t experience church that summer.

This trip inspired me to see everything. Where you live, isn’t the only place there are interesting things, people and food. I want to explore all around the world. I wish to see the most beautiful things and meet the most beautiful and intelligent people. If I could go anywhere next, it would be somewhere tropical. I love animals, and I love the outdoors. I love learning new things and I learned so much from this trip. It was something that everyone needs to experience.
