My family doesn't get to go on very many vacations.  We are limited by many things, money being one of them.  Another notable thing about this trip is that it is the first time in my life that I felt very close with my Dad.  We usually argue a lot and get into fights, but when we take a relaxing vacation and go for hikes through the forest, all the tension just seems to dissipate.  North Carolina seemed like the perfect place to go to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the city of Naples, FL.  Being at one with nature is seldom done when you are constantly surrounded by convenience stores and shopping malls.

Our vacation to North Carolina has always been important to me.  I feel like after that trip, me and my dad got along better and better.  Maybe it was because of stress of work and school was gone when we were standing on a cliff looking at nothing but trees.  Maybe it is because we almost never go on a vacation and didn't have to worry at that moment what bills needed to be payed one.  Maybe it's just fate.  All I can say now is, things have definitely changed now for the better.  I would like to go back some day, just to visit people and places we met along the way during our road trip to North Carolina.
