I have discovered that Indiana is an awe-inspiring state, the scenery, the weather and the people will all make you want to stay. I decided to make my visit to Indiana in April 2012, it was supposed to be on an explorative basis but it turned to something more.

A few days after my plane landed and I began to settle in, I got a phone call from my dad telling me to never come back, that he wanted nothing to do with me. I was crushed, hearing those words from my father's mouth but then again he was never there anyway. I was stranded in a state that I knew no one, but I did have one person here; and that was my sister. I moved in with her right after I was faced with a pretty hard choice.

I believe deep down in my heart that this was meant to be, I was supposed to come here. My trip to Indiana became much more than exploring the state, it was a life changing experience. I found who and what I wanted to be, I realized my purpose in life. I went to Gosport by my lonesome about a month ago, I needed some alone time, time to think and understand what had happened. I found the most historical town, maybe even district in Indiana. Almost all of the buildings in the square were original, it was utterly breathtaking. My main focus was the river, as you can see from my photos. I had to walk about a mile to get there, but it was so worth it. I found various animal prints from racoons to deer, petrified wood(I had never expected it to be so heavy!!), and the remains of an old covered bridge. The Ferry Bridge was just as outstanding as the rest of it, the bridge overlooked the Gosport River, I know that it was built in the early 1900's and some improvements were made in the early 2000's. It is no longer in use for vehicles, more for walking nowadays. It gave me a spectacle of all things greater than me, it made me realize that every object in this world has a purpose including me, including an old bridge that is never used.

After my trip that day, I had a new-found confidence in myself and have done great things ever since. I love Indiana, I'm pretty sure I want to stay here for a long time. I have made many new friends, and I have family that really does love me. I have been given a second chance in life, that not everyone is gifted.
