I step out of the car, glad that the 14 hours of airports and plane rides are over, and excited to be back in beautiful downtown Los Angeles again. I look down the road towards the pink and black stars which create the Walk of Fame. I take a deep breath as my mom and I enter the Renaissance Hotel for the second time in a month.  We are greeted by a group of people who can be considered no less than angels.  These are the people who one month before deemed me worthy of being a part of the “1•Day Acuvue Contest” along with four other teens from across North America.

â–º  QUARTER FINALIST 2012 TEEN TRAVEL WRITING SCHOLARSHIP

These are the people who thought I deserved the chance of a life-time to walk the red carpet at the Teen Choice Awards alongside Sterling Knight. We hug, and chat excitedly before we are lead to our room by a girl named Sarah. We are told how exciting and busy the next day is going to be, and we are left with the advice to get a good nights rest as red carpet preparations begin at 8am sharp.
The next morning we are up and ready in less than ten minutes. Mom and I walk two rooms down to where hair and make-up is being done, and I begin my red carpet transformation! I sit down  in front of a petite girl who is in charge of my make-up. When she is finished, I look in the mirror, and to my surprise, I feel beautiful.
At almost 10:30am I am standing outside, dressed in a cute yellow sundress and sparkling silver flip-flops, ready for my red carpet appearance. I am then led to a large SUV where Sterling and the rest of the team is waiting for me.
Sterling and I arrive on the red carpet and almost immediately begin our trek through the wild charade of paparazzi and fervid interviewers. We stop every minute or so, and Sterling encourages me to come out of my shell. My confidence begins to grow, and in the following half hour I end up talking to Ashley Benson as well as a band called Honor Society. Not long after we are pushed inside the Theatre by the awards committee, and Sterling and I find our seats only moments before the show begins. Daniel Radcliff, Kellan Lutz, Robert Pattinson. Everyone I know and love is only a few measly steps away.
As the show finishes we find the other members of our group, and head towards Jillian's on Universal Citywalk for the after-party.
When we arrive everyone is unsure of what to try first, there is a bowling ally, arcade, and multiple candy stands all within our view. We stick to the bowling ally for the entire night, too exhausted to brave the crowds, yet with too much energy to retire for the evening. After a few long hours we all decide it is time to head back to the hotel for the night, and with heavy heads, we pile on to the waiting bus outside.
The following morning we wake early for our flight home. I cry once we reach the lobby, realizing that this is the last time I will see these beautiful people. I hug everyone in sight, knowing that I had been blessed with so much more than a trip in the passed two days. I leave with more memories than I can list, a second family, new best-friends and a shining confidence I have never known before now.
