Whoever said Hawaii was paradise was an understatement. Hawaii is more than just paradise it’s practically heaven on earth. With picturesque beaches and gorgeous sights the island of Maui is hard to pass up. Everything from its unique culture to beautiful botanical gardens is truly a sight to see.
I fortunately had the privilege to experience this beautiful setting when my mom, dad, grandma, and I flew to Hawaii for Thanksgiving 2 years ago. Since I had never gone, my parents thought it would be cool to go to Maui and spend my fall break and Thanksgiving there.
Our home base was a condo we rented in Maalea Harbor not far from tourist town Lahaina. While there in Maui we visited the Maui Ocean Center a fun family-friendly aquarium and other attractions such as a glass bottom submarine to visit Maui’s ocean life and sea turtles. But, if you really want to be enchanted by Maui, I suggest the Hana Highway. The Hana Highway or road to Hana is perfect for opening your eyes to the beauties of Maui. Though Hana is nothing special just a small historical town, the trip to it is completely worth it. You’ll see beautiful valley views, black sand beaches, cute fresh food and baked goods stands, and breath-taking botanical gardens.
The Garden of Eden is just one of the many botanical gardens on the road to Hana. It is so amazingly beautiful it is hard to believe it’s real. In there’s beautiful flowers and plants, ponds, waterfalls, and a view of Puhokamoa Valley with Keopuka Rock which was featured in the blockbuster movie Jurassic Park (featured in my picture). You’ll leave Maui wishing you could go back. So, pack your bags and head to Maui. It will leave you thirsty for more!
