Traveling can be a very relaxing and rejuvenating experience, specifically when traveling to an area that is open in a variety of natural aspects. Every summer my family travels to San Luis Potosi, Rioverde, which is open in such a natural way. It is great to experience nature in Mexico because of the vast open land that is available to explore. The air is brisk, yet fresh. The sensation that I got from simply being in the presence of this wide and open mountain range was awe inspiring, and it was overwhelmingly breath taking all at the same time. Walking and mountain bike riding in Mexico is such a unique experience that has truly made me acknowledge the greatness of the outdoors.
The cool air, of that which Mexico is surprisingly filled with, brushes up against my heated skin. I ride my bike up the mountain to explore the caverns. I stop for a second and simply gaze across the mountains, taking in the greatness of the vegetation and scenery. Every moment that I experienced while on that mountain made me appreciate life and everything it had to offer.
After seeing where I was on the mountain and reflecting on my traveling experience, I made my way up to the caverns with my family. Instantly, walking into the cavern, the air was cooler than I had anticipated. It was dark and eerie; however, I was unafraid to go on in. I entered following closely behind my relatives. It was interesting to be in such a place, and not knowing what was further inside. Experiencing the caverns was not the only source of excitement my traveling odyssey had to offer. In fact every morning that I woke up in San Luis, I never knew what was to come. Having that excitement and spontaneity everyday made the trip that much more interesting. I loved ever single second of being on that trip, and am looking forward to experiencing more of it next year and the year after.
