Many believe that you must use tons of money and go to the best places to have the best trip. My experiences would say differently. In reality, a family will have the most fun with what they make of it and a good positive attitude toward the trip. Four years ago my family as well as my two best friend’s family went on a vacation to Gulf Shores, Alabama. There were a total of 13 people on that trip and even though it was chaotic, we would not have wanted it any other way. After the long drive from Texas we immediately started getting ready for the beach, and having a good time. There were a lot of different activities you could buy and do on the beach but we knew we couldn’t all afford that, so we found fun elsewhere. From jumping off of huge piles of sand, to fishing, finding hermit crabs, and swimming out far into the ocean we had the times of our lives. The girls spent zero time inside because all of us were too busy playing in the sand. All of us got sun burnt but we did not care! Constantly busy with having fun and laughing with our big giant family. Throughout that year we had all been going through difficult times and sitting there on that beach we knew we would be okay and had everything we needed. That is defiantly the most important thing that came out of the trip that summer. During this trip it all came clear to us that we just needed our friends and family to have the best time. Our daily schedule for the days remained pretty much the same every day. We would wake up just out of pure excitement, make breakfast and sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather in Alabama. Then we would all run down to the beach to see what awaited us! One of the first days when we ran down there we met a man that was catching baby sharks. We were so fascinated we continued to talk to him as he shared stories, and then he asked if we would like to join him every morning! Of course we took the adventurous opportunity and that’s how we continued to spend our mornings. Our afternoons would be spent laying out, playing in the sand, playing volleyball or football, whatever caught our attention. Then once our energy was worn down we made dinner to get sparked up again. After our dinner we always wanted to go try and catch crabs, no matter what or how late it was. We were known on that beach because of how many crabs we caught with just a flash light and bucket. It’s also amazing how much fun we had just with a flash light and a bucket. That goes to show how much you don't need and how much fun just with family could do! I will never forget that trip and what it taught me about family.
