Everyone has heard the saying, "There is no place like home." I must highly agree. Nebraska is what I call home. Many people believe that Nebraska is a state full of corn, tall grass and barren fields with nothing to do. Sure, it may be partially true, but there are actually quite the amount of fun activities to do, here in Nebraska! I would recommend that if you were to come to Nebraska, that you should most definitely visit The Henry Doorly Zoo. Not only do you get to physically be near animals that one wouldn't normally see, on a daily basis, but there are also quite the variety of interactive activities on site, such as the new dinosaur exhibit. I would also highly recommend taking a ride on the skylifts that travel across the zoo, if you want a bird's eye view of some of the larger animals, like elephants and giraffes! I sure hope you don't forget to stop by the restaurants at the zoo which include regular dishes here in Nebraska such as hotdogs, icecream, popcorn and more! Nebraska has had a rather wild history of changes in weather. We rarely ever know what we're going to get, the next day, so be prepared for a thrill of a vacation! Try packing shorts, bikinis and don't be afraid to throw in a pair of snow pants, just incase!
Some other exciting places to visit would include the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, which is actually the longest bridge that interlocks two states over the Missouri River. Walk into the middle and there's actually a line representing the transition from Nebraska into Iowa! Now, who said one can't be in two states at once? The Pedestrian Bridge is also an amazing site for biking, hiking, walking and possibly picnic time in the nearby grass! Nebraska has a perfect family environment and one can't help but find something to do at any time of the day. Be it ice skating, skateboarding, trailing through the woods or wandering through the fields. Nebraska will feel like "Home Sweet Home" to anyone and every one!
