Hampton Roads: Where History and Beauty Unite. - My Family Travels
FD2

In 1607, the British colonists founded the first successful American colony of Jamestown, in Virginia. Today, Jamestown is located near where I call home, Hampton Roads, Virginia. Hampton Road's is located on the East Coast of America, meaning it was fantastic beaches for the family to come and enjoy. While the family is here, be sure to bring them to all of the fantastic museums Hampton Roads has to offer, such as The Mariners Museum (which has the real turret from the Monitor),  the Air and Space Museum, the War museum, and Colonial Williamsburg. All of the spectacular sites are just down the road from the first College founded in America, The College of William and Mary. More historical sites include the Yorktown VIctory Center, where the British Army surrendered during the revolutionary war. You can also take a boat out to where on the same body of water the Monitor and the Merrimack fought the historical battle durring the Civil War.

There are also fun family attractions to visit while you're in town. For example "The World's Most Beautiful Theme Park", Busch Gardens Williamsburg, is an exciting place to get a thrill. If you're visting on a nice warm day, be sure to stop by one of Hampton Roads' fantastic beaches, where the whole family can enjoy the day.

Need a place to eat? Well, you've come to the right place! Hampton Road's has numerous restaurants that have delicious meals, and that also fit your budget. Seafood is a popular cuisine in Hampton Roads. The area is located near the Chesapeake Bay, which is famous for its delightful blue crabs.

After dinner you and your family could go see a concert or play at one of Hampton Road's multiple theatres. Many large musical performers, and shows visit the area every year.

Come on over the Hampton Roads area, where fun meets historical beauty. We hope to see you soon!
