Where do I live? Vancouver.
I bet most of you unless you live in the area don't know where this is; however I'm sure you've heard about Vancouver.
Did you know that Vancouver constantly is rated to be in the top 5 most beautiful cities in the world? It is where I grew up, where all my memories were created since I was a child, and my favourite city in the world.
For all travellers with an interest in coming to Vancouver, there are so many things in which you can do, whether it be seeing the great outdoors (with plenty of lush green forests) as well as several indoor activities.
Let's begin with the outdoors. For one, my top recommendation for sure at any season would be Stanley Park. Are you interested in breathing in clean air while seeing a historical site? Stanley Park offers a wonderful view of sea, land, and wildlife. You're bound to have a great time whether it may be taking a tour by riding in one of the carriage's or even simply taking a walk. There are so many great activities you can participate in (I recommend taking a ride in the miniature train; it's great!). On the other hand, if interested in coming for the winter, you simply MUST go to Whistler. If you recall, it was one of the major arena's for the 2010 Winter Olympics (where Vancouver had the most gold medals ever recorded for a home stadium!) With lots of fresh snow and a historical village to take a walk through, it really is a lovely place to take a tour at for a few days. An activity I personally recommend you taking part in is skiing or snowboarding, whether you know how to or not. Lessons are easily assessable and honestly, why not? It's a great experience and Whistler is known to be one of the best areas for skiing and snowboarding. If uninterested, there's also the gondola ride in which you can go up the mountain easily, giving you the chance to take breathtaking pictures.
For children (and adults), the Vancouver Aquarium is also recommended to visit. Located nearby Stanley Park, the aquarium is fairly large and personally, one of my favourite places in this city. From seeing sea otters, to beluga whales, the variety of sea creatures here are endless; along with the glass walkway in which you can go through a hall surrounded by fish and other creatures. It may sound like any other museum, but being a person who loves to see animals, the Vancouver Aquarium is definitely one of the better ones you can visit. A place highly recommended for children especially is Science World. Contained in a dome-like structure, the inside is filled with hands-on activities and interesting exhibits you can see and interact with. It's a fun environment and chances are, you will leave knowing more than you did.
On a more personal level, being a teenager, I understand sometimes teens may be uninterested in such activities. Therefore, I highly recommended Vancouver's Pacific National Exhibition's Playland! This is a huge theme park with lots of exciting rides (the wooden rollercoaster is a must!) and will be guaranteed exciting.
Other areas recommended to check out is the Vancouver Art Gallery, Robson Square, and Capilano Suspension Bridge. Even simply taking a walk downtown will you be immersed with the beautiful and historical city that those living in Vancouver are blessed to live in.
Visit Vancouver! Trust me, it will definitely be one of the best places you'll ever go to!
