My Hometown - My Family Travels
Kelley Canyon Mountain
Kelley Canyon Mountain

My name is Erin Brown and I live in Ririe, Idaho. Tourists should definitely stop by our small charming town. There are so many things to do and see here. In the winter you can ski at the Kelley Canyon Ski Resort, which also has snow shoe trails. On your way back from a long day of skiing and cold, you can stop in at the Heise Hot Pool and warm up, and also have some dinner at the Heise Pizzeria. Yum! During the summer there is hiking instead of skiing up in the same area. So on a hot day you can come back and swim in the Cold Pool at Heise and enjoy the waterslide.

Maybe you would even enjoy a round of golf or even ziplining through the mountains of the Heise area! The ziplining tour consists of ten ziplines which cover almost a mile of terrain. It takes about three hours depending on the size of group you’re in. They also have a full moon tour which of course is a fun filled night of gliding  through the air under the stars and beautiful full moon!

I work at a ranch that you can’t miss seeing as well. It’s called Mountain River Ranch. It’s a place where you come to enjoy good food and entertainment. You drive into an old western town straight out of an old western movie. There is a good old fashioned gun fight to get your evening started, then it’s time to load the wagons as they take you back to the Meadow Muffin, which is where you will eat and enjoy the show. After dinner you”ll be tapping your feet and clapping your hands for The Knott Brothers or two other bands which play during the winter season.

Another fun place to go is the Ririe Reservoir. They have a beautiful campground that overlooks the reservoir. Our family enjoys boating, surfing, tubing, and wake boarding. There are a few spots along the lake where you can unload your things and have some lunch or play a good game of volleyball!

The Ririe area has a lot more to offer than it seems. I hope what you read has made you a little curious to come and visit. It”ll be worth it!
