Fun in the sun - My Family Travels

Let’s fly on down to the beautiful sunshine state. Picture cool sand in between your toes. The wind blowing through your hair. Close your eyes and just listen to the sound of the waves crashing. Feel the cool water skim over your feet. Taste the splash of wild berry sensation in your mouth as you sip a smoothie. You’re in paradise.

Florida has countless beaches surrounding the state. Have you ever wanted to see a cruise boat without taking a cruise? While you’re in Florida you can visit Cape Canaveral. You can look out into the distance and watch as the immense cruise boats come into port. If you stand on the pier, you can watch as the cruise boats pass right in front of you, making you feel like you’re the size of an ant. It’s a sight worth seeing. Also on the pier you can cast your fishing line and maybe even catch some dinner! The water is so clear you can see the sea turtles swimming right underneath your feet. So come sit back and relax, and enjoy the experience of whichever beach you choose to visit here in Florida.

Not only are there breath-taking beaches, but there’s also thrill-inducing amusement parks! There’s everything from exploring the sea at SeaWorld, where you can visit various types of sea animals, and ride rides that make you feel like a manta ray swimming on the ocean floor. You can even discover your magical powers at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Orlando’s Universal: Islands of Adventure, where you can cast spells with the Harry Potter characters. Buy a ticket and walk through the gates to fun. You can smell the turkey legs and hear the screams of thrill-seekers right as you walk into the gates. You may be thinking, “Well, Florida is too hot to do these things,” well, you’re in luck because Florida is home to many water parks. Hop into the waves of the tsunami simulation at Typhoon Lagoon, or take the ski lift to the top of the park where you can ride the family raft back down to the bottom at Blizzard Beach at Disney. You’ll be sure to have a blast.

If you’re not into parks or maybe not a beach goer, do you like to shop’til you drop? Then you should visit Pointe Orlando located on International Drive, an outdoor mall with two levels of shopping galore at stores like Hollister, Victoria Secret, Tommy Hilfiger, and plenty more. You can even grab a bite to eat, weather you’re in the mood for steak, seafood, or even an ethnic cuisine, Pointe Orlando has it all. There’s even a tremendous movie theater if you’re in the mood for action or comedy. Another entertainment hotspot is city walk located right outside of Universal Studios. Come at Night and experience the streets lit up by lights and music. You can even visit gourmet restaurants like Emerils restaurant, or make it 5’o'clock in Margaritaville. It’s a trip you won’t forget.

Here you can visit a plethora of intriguing historical sites; The battlegrounds of Saint Augustine, the Oldest House Museum, the Fountain of Youth: Archeological Park, or even a ghost tour at night.
