Hey there! My name is Alexis and I currently reside in New York City. I've lived here all of my life and it is a pretty astonishing place. I've lived in East Harlem but I enjoy downtown Manhattan more. Everything down there is just so full of life. Times Square is pretty much the main hangout spot for everyone. There's restaurants, places for kids, movies, all of that. NYC is an all around great place to be. It is also probably the most or one of the most diverse places on this planet. There is literally different sections in NYC that are specific to a race. There's Little Italy, Spanish Harlem (split between Puerto Ricans and Mexicans), Midtown , Soho, (mainly white), Washington Heights, Chinatown, Little Brazil, etc. I consider NYC to be a colorful place. When you walk through these sections, you can feel as if you're in another country. Spanish Harlem has all the spanish food you'd ever want and also you can hear Spanish music. NYC also hosts a variety of parades. There's parades for African Americans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Mexicans, LGBTQ, Jamaicans, West Indians, Irish, etc. If you wanted to meet people from other countries, you wouldn't even have to visit other countries. You could just easily come to NYC and ride public transportation and hear different languages. In NYC, there's Times Square (where the New Years Eve ball drops), Statue of Liberty, Coney Island, City Island, and other places where you can go to have fun. NYC also has a lot of history. You can come here to explore and learn history and also have a good time with friends and family.
