Welcome to Cincinnati - My Family Travels

Cincinnati, Ohio is an absolutely beautiful city that creates an atmosphere unlike any other. The city has so many different sides to it, each of which help you discover cultures from all around the world. If you come, I would definitely suggest the Cincinnati Zoo . This zoo has animals from all over the world, letting visitors experience animals in an all new, up close way. By coming to the Cincinnati Zoo, visitors are able to feed the giraffes.

See a tiger through only a thin layer of glass, and watch a sloth climb up a tree with absolutely nothing separating you and the amazing animal in front of you. Another experience with the creatures that share our earth is found at the Krohn Conservatory . Here you can connect with plants from around the world. By coming to Cincinnati, you don’t have to travel far to see plants found in tropical and desert areas.

Of course, no trip to Cincinnati is complete without tasting some of our cuisine, featuring recipes from around the world and new innovative techniques. The Hofbrauhaus in nearby Newport  features authentic German food. The restaurant itself is based on the one in Munich, Germany! German cuisine is a major highlight of the Cincinnati lifestyle, and this is featured through this restaurant by showing you a taste of Germany. Another Cincinnati is Cincinnati chili, featured at Skyline , Gold Star and Dixie Chili . Cincinnati Chili is served on top of spaghetti, but the ordering method varies on what else you want. A ‘3 way’ is chili, spaghetti, and cheese; a ‘4 way’ is all of that and onions; and a ‘5 way’ is everything above, plus beans. To wrap up the food tour of Cincinnati, my next must would be Tom + Chee, a gourmet grilled cheese and tomato soup restaurant. Tom + Chee has been featured on Man Vs. Food Nation and Shark Tank! Make sure that when you head here to get the famous grilled cheese donut! Trust me, it’s amazing and just one of the many examples of innovation.

Next up on our Cincinnati adventure, let’s take a trip back in time with some of my favorite museums. The first would be the Cincinnati Museum Center . The exhibits are great, but my favorite part would probably be the building itself! The Cincinnati Museum Center is inside the old Cincinnati Union Terminal, a train station known for its unique style. When you enter, make sure to look up at the mosaic on the wall which features some of Cincinnati’s most famous businesses, including Proctor & Gamble and American Oak Leather. Another eye opening experience in Cincy is the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center , which puts you right in the middle of the experiences that the slaves faced during the time of the Underground Railroad. This museum features immersive experiences that will lead you to feel inspired, as well as more educated about the past.

No matter where you choose to go in Cincinnati, there is one thing I know for sure – you are going to have an amazing trip! There is so much to do in the ‘Queen City,’ making it a must visit. Another amazing thing about Cincinnati is that no matter what time you come, we always have new events going on, so make sure to take some time to allow for unexpected, but good, surprises! This is my city and I hope you all love it as much as I do.
