I have been to many of the famous cities of the world and have been privileged enough to see the great beauty the earth has to offer. As a traveler who is consistently watching her budget and who is always looking for ways to understand a destination beyond an accumulation of tourist sites, I have come to realize that the city I live in is a perfect fit for anyone and everyone who is willing to give it a shot. Tulsa, located in northeastern Oklahoma, is a city that offers a temperate climate. Like the old saying goes, "If you don't like the weather in Oklahoma, just wait a minute." Tulsa surprises all visitors with a feeling of southern, western, and eastern all at once. We're big enough to have everything you need, but small enough to make you feel right at home! I have lived in Tulsa for ten years now and I’ve learned that there are several opportunities here that allow you to experience a delightful mix of rich culture, colorful history and shopping, and a lively nightlife. We offer a fabulous array of cultural conveniences including the acclaimed Tulsa Ballet, Tulsa Opera, Tulsa Symphony Orchestra and other programs of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. The music here thrives with everything from country music to indie rock and from local nightlife concerts to large music festivals. Each year a multitude of festivals and events, like the Tulsa International Mayfest, Tulsa Oktoberfest and Oklahoma Scottish Festival, take place in order to celebrate Tulsa's heritage and culture. If art is your passion you should explore some of Tulsa's nationally recognized museums, such as Gilcrease Museum, which contains the world's largest and most comprehensive collection of fine art, artifacts and archives of the American West. The Philbrook Museum of Art is an Italian-style villa that is filled with Italian renaissance art, ancient and classical pieces, and extensive Native American collections. These beautiful museums will leave you speechless! If you have kids, or if you are just a kid at heart, the Tulsa Zoo has several exhibits worth seeing. It was voted America's Favorite Zoo by Microsoft Game Studios! In addition, the city’s Arkansas River has trails for biking, boarding, running, and a multitude of other scenic and recreational outdoor activities that are suitable for anyone and everyone. Also, you will find an amazing aquarium that proudly displays the largest collection of bull sharks in the world. Tulsa is a city you will truly enjoy and never get tired of! In addition, if you come to Tulsa you have to visit Brookside. This area features more than thirty-five restaurants and nightspots ranging from fast food to extravagant dining in just about any cuisine you crave. Brookside also has one-of-a-kind stores you won’t find anywhere else. Here you will see many unique gifts to buy your loved ones while you are visiting. Everything you need is here in Tulsa and I think you will be pleased by our graceful, tree-lined neighborhoods, family events, the nightlife, beautiful parks, and spectacular places to shop. While you are here you should visit Jamil's steakhouse. They are known to have the best steaks in town and they definitely have the friendliest service. You should really come check this city out for yourself. Visitors are always welcome in Tulsa. If you need any help around town just ask anyone! We are always willing to help out one another and that is guaranteed. You will not be disappointed if you see what this wonderful city has to offer. We hope to see you soon!
