It’s survived and flourished through those painful tween years, and now a great kids show — Gazillion Bubble Show — is celebrating its 13th birthday as one of New York’s best value live theatre experiences.
It’s hard to believe that it was 2007, when performer Fan Yang brought his unique brand of bubble artistry to New York City for a limited run. Since then, big and small and huge bubbles have been created at the New World Stages in New York City in front of more than 779,000 people.
While we think this show is ideal with very little ones, your 10-year-olds and 73-year-olds will love it too. Just ask the bold face names who have brought their own kids to see it over the years (at least according to the show’s stellar PR team).
Yup, you may find yourself seated next to A-list Hollywood celebs and their families including Ashton Kutcher, Tom Cruise, Al Pacino, Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Faith Hill, Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Alyssa Milano, Heidi Klum, Seal, Peter Dinklage, Rosie O’Donell, Al Roker, Perez Hilton, Adam Sandler, Swizz Beats, Liam Neeson, Patrick Wilson, Bruce Willis, Chris Rock, Nicole Kidman, David Beckham, Simon Fuller, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, Chelsea Clinton and many, many more.
Why Do We Love Gazillion Bubble Show?
The show is back in town, and Fan Yang has enlarged the set and bubble wizardry so that he can perform with several of his own family members. So the tradition of amazing audiences with mind-blowing bubble magic, spectacular laser lighting effects, and momentary soapy masterpieces that make people smile continues.
We also love it because this is how our reviewer, Steve Ramkissoon, described his family outing to the Gazillion Bubble Show:
“So, here we were with our 2 year-old and 5 year-old, about to be whisked away to this magical bubble world.
Fan Yang, who invented the special solution that is used with his bubble toys, proved to be quite the showman. He created both big and small bubbles, even encasing the smaller ones in the larger bubbles. His use of fog within the bubble was amazing, especially when he created replicas of huge wedding rings.
This level of excitement was also generated by his bubble ‘snowfall’. The show lasts for 80 minutes with no intermission, but it kept the whole audience interested.”
