From Dreams To Reality - My Family Travels
wedding

Mexico has been a part of me since I was born. Although, I never remember a time where I last went, I dreamed about the opportunity to revisit it again. This day soon arrived when my family and I planned a visit to go to Guadalajara. The airport in Tijuana was filled with people rushing to go to the places they wanted to be at. The airplanes waited patiently as passengers began to arrive and I was anxious to leave to a new part of the world that I have slowly forgotten. Thus, My trip began when my plane landed and my uncle came to pick us up and show us everything we have missed since we last been there.

My Family and I arrived at my uncle Miguel’s house in Col. Bugambilias, Guadalajara. His house was a palace with many rooms that looked like expensive suits. It was amazing to see his lifestyle and how good he has been doing these past years. We ate and played in his big house filed with hidden rooms I have not spotted before. He then took us out on a vehicle that looked like a car and we drove around for hours, enjoying every part of Mexico.

But, what I regretted the most about this part of my trip was that I didn’t thank my uncle enough for having us there because a year later, he died in a plane crash. This incident changed me because I know now that I should appreciate the people around me more.

We left a couple days later and went to Puerto de La Vega. As I got out of the car, I was hit with the warm sensation of family around me. Old memories began to unravel as I saw everything the little pueblo had to offer. I remembered my grandpa’s old white one story house filled with happiness and joy as well as a little gazebo in the middle of the pueblo where everyone hangs out in. Christmas soon arrived with family all around me. We sat by the bonfire and enjoyed each other's company. It was a special moment because Christmas was spent with the people I love and cherish. Presents were being exchanged and the best part for me was seeing their faces when they opened the presents they always wanted.

The next morning I could not forget because it was the day my cousin was getting married. The church was at Puerto de la Vega. It was a small yet beautiful church with many people there to congratulate her marriage. After, everyone walked to the salon, less than a mile away, we waited for the new bribe to come in. Everyone began to dance and enjoy the party and what made it truly memorable was the fact that my cousin had to be the most happiest person in the world. She laughed and dance and I could not help but smile at her for being with a guy she truly loves.

This experience has affected me in countless ways and has been one of the most memorable trips. I met new family and encountered different parts of my culture that I have never knew before. I had the chance to spend time with my family as a whole during holidays that I would never take back. Although, their lifestyle is different than what I am usually use to, I enjoyed every second there from the parties to even the outside showers and hand made laundry.
