During Summer Break of 2011, I traveled with my family from our home in Scottsdale Arizona to the Southern California Coast for a family vaction. For the first week I had the lucky chance to stay at the historic Cottages at Crystal Cove. I got to wake up to the sound of crashing waves and taking strolls on the beach. I discovered that the Southern California coast line is truely unique and I got to observe dolphins in their natural habitat. I would see them at night searching for fish to eat and just having fun in their natural habitat. Crystal Cove transports you to what the Southern California was like in the early 1950's.

There are many building that have been restored and preserved for future generations to know what an old time California coast community was like. I learned to appreciate the ocean and all it has to offer, because one day pollution and modern construction will erase the natural beauty of Crystal Cove State Park Historic District. Me and my sister enjoyed the old fashioned milkshakes at Ruby's Shake Shack. My family and I enjoyed the lovely beach just steps from our cottage. My sister and I spent hours boogie boarding in the water, even without wetsuits! I bounded with my sister more and every member of my family becasue of the reclusive location we where in. The distractions of normal life are gone and you get to appreciate the real meaning of family. Crystal Cove is not a five star hotel you bring your own portalble gas stove and cook outside. The cottages are nice and clean simple but, the spectaular views are why anyone should come to the hidden beach off Pacific Coast Highway.
