Well hello again everyone! You’ll never guess what happened this past weekend here in Kansas City…nope, you are wrong. Guess again. IT SNOWED! One day it was a muggy eighty degrees and next thing you know we are getting hailed upon. I mean, if that is not cool then I don’t know what is! Who wouldn’t want to be here to see our weather crisis?

Putting that aside, it has now been a beautiful week full of summer signs. All our parks are becoming a lush green again, like Shawnee Mission Park. It has the lake open for boats, trails are crowding up and the wonderful Tower has endless amounts of kids all over it. I, for one, am there every day in my cozy little hammock hooked up between whichever two trees I choose. It is a wonderful place for a barbecue. All the country back roads are very beautiful and the creeks running beneath the dirt road bridges are tempting me to dive on in. I see horses with their riders just galloping down the roads and old couples bent over planting something new in their cute little gardens. Lenexa, Kansas is a beautiful place this time of year for its friendly environment and beautiful parks.
Oh! I almost forgot to mention the Plaza! How silly of me. It is now bursting with bands on every corner and pedestrians trying to get a reservation to the nicest restaurant or buy the latest fashion. My favorite part of the plaza is away from the hustle and bustle and over by Loose Park. The rose garden is now in full bloom and the Horse Fountain is so fun when watching the children run through it. All I know is whether you are down town or up in Lenexa, you are having a good time. If you want a fun place to explore, y’all check Kansas out!
