When people think of small towns, the first thing that comes to mind is not excitement and adventure. Small towns are usually boring and there is not too many things to do except for maybe going to the movie theaters. Although Folsom has a pretty cool and brand new movie theater, that is not the only thing to do here. Many people from our neighboring town, El Dorado Hills, make their way down to Folsom because we have all the major grocery stores, shopping, and restaurants.
Palladio is the newest addition to Folsom. Palladio is an outdoor mall and it has many restaurants and stores to choose from. A few restaurants located at the Palladio are Chicago Fire, Blue Nami, Red Robin, and Toby Keith's I Heart This Bar & Grill. Some stores are H&M, Charlotte Russe, and Sports Authority. These are just a few of the many places to choose from at Palladio and since it is a fairly new place, there is much more to come. If the stores at Palladio do not live up to your expectations, we also have the Folsom Outlets with many other store options. On Tuesdays Palladio is packed; you will most likely see everyone you know there. Tuesdays is five dollar Tuesdays, which means that the movie theater sells tickets for only five dollars. After watching a movie on Tuesday, you can enjoy a Pinkberry for half the price of a regular yogurt. During the summer, Wednesdays is music night. A band comes to the center of Palladio and plays music for everyone. People usually sit around, eat food, relax, and listen to the music. Palladio also does many other things like farmers markets and festivals.
Folsom of course is home of Folsom Lake. There are always people there because it is a great place to lay in the sand, soak up the sun, play in the water, and relax. If you have a boat, you can take out into the water and go tubing or wakeboarding. The lake is also a great place to watch the sunset and sunrise. Not only do we have the lake, but there is also a river that passes through Folsom. Many people go to the river to swim, go fishing, and jump off rocks. There are also many different hiking trails and biking trails by the river. It is fun for exploring the wilderness.
Another popular area is Old Folsom. There you can walk the strip of cute antique stores; you can also learn about the history of the town through the different museums we have there. Old Folsom is great for the night life and those who are over twenty-one. There are a lot of bars there and many places have live music on the weekends.
Folsom also has the very famous Folsom Prison, but of course no one is really going to be hanging around there. People who live in small towns usually hate it, they cannot wait to be able to leave, but Folsom is fun. There is a lot of history in it, but at the same time there are many new things about it. Visiting Folsom would be a nice get-away. You can be apart of this small town, relax, and have no worries. I am certain that you will meet many different, great people while you are here.
