Here in Toledo, it may seem like there isn't much to do. That isn't true in the slightest and if you can't find anything, ask a local! We don't bite! There is something for everyone. Sports, nature, cars, we have it. Toledo isn't the biggest city in the world, but we have enough heart to make up for it!
Wildwood is on the outside of Toledo, but one of my favorite places to go. During the holiday season, the manor house is open for tours and is decorated beautifully. During the summer, the woods are green and alive. Deer often wander the park, and you can always hear the songs of the birds. The trails are sometimes dirt paths, other times boardwalks. This is due to the large amount of water found on the estate. If you pay attention during warmer temperatures you may find yourself in the presence of snakes, toads and frogs. If you leave them alone, they will return the favor. There is no need to fear them! Wildwood also has playgrounds, restrooms, and picnic areas for those who wish to relax! Let the kids play and then eat some good summer food without having to worry about their next potty break. If you have dogs, they are welcome as well!
If you are someone who loves sports, where better to go than Fifth Third Field for a Mudhens game? Toledo's own beloved baseball team puts up a good fight for every game, and there is never a lack of spirit. Home games are in Firth Third Field obviously, where foul balls can be caught and hot dogs can be bought. Kids can meet Muddy the Hen, play in "Muddy's Marsh", and eat ice cream! Adults can drink beer and socialize as well. Mudhens games make for a great time with friends, or a great family activity. It all depends on what you want to do!
Other things in Toledo include the original Tony Packo's, Toledo Speedway, and Franklin Park Mall. The mall is a great place to shop, or see a movie at the Cinema! Toledo Speedway has beer and food, and recently upgraded seating! The most frequent type of racing there is Arca, and the races are frequent as well. Ticket prices vary for age and time of year, but none cost above $30. Tony Packo's is great for all ages and has authentic Hungarian food. Tony Packo's products can be found in stores as well!
Every person has a different experience in Toledo, but always a good one. Crystal Bowersox is proud to have grown up here, as well as many other people. Toledo may be small, but we know how to have a good time!
