The town of Sultan, Washington is completely amazing. Surrounded by the mountains, woods, and a river going right through it is a sight to behold. It is a place where Nature and civilization meet in complete harmony. Hearing the birds and seeing deer is not an uncommon thing. Even during many practices of all the amazing sports teams and marching band you often see animals running across the field.
If you came here the first place I would say you should go is the Sultan Bakery where a warm environment and outstanding service come together. Not to mention the enormous amounts of food you can get for less than ten dollars. The food is so fantastic it makes your mouth water as soon as you walk in. Also, it is a bakery so you get all kinds of pastries that are always freshly baked. Speaking from my personal experience the donuts are to die for. Even the Sultan High Band Director Jill Sumpter, often uses the bakery donuts as a reward for outstanding work. Speaking of Jill Sumpter, she is definitely a person you want to meet she has won so many awards for the school, using the marching band.
A fun place to go is, well everywhere. There are hiking trails in every nook and cranny for hikers that love either an easy gentle hike. Or for the more experienced hiker there are almost completely vertical trails where you almost need hiking gear. Often I have found myself going on a hike starting on the main trail, and then going on a small trail made by deer. Also, In the month of July we have an annual carnival. That comes through on the second weekend of July where there are rides, car shows, games, and amazing carnival food.
