Nature Paradise - My Family Travels

Bellingham is in the top northwest corner of Washington State up by the Puget Sound, and is surrounded by mountains, ocean and forest. Its scenery challenges the best in the, world. However, Bellingham is not just art museum with beautiful pictures to gaze at, think of it as a art museum theme park with both of the fun and excitement, with the views only seen once in a life-time.

Old Fairhaven is filled with beautifully cobbled streets leading to the green sparkling ocean. Many shops line the roads of old Fairhaven with glass panels allowing curious eyes to wander in. Shops include coffee shops like Tully’s coffee, or national award winning cupcakes like Katie’s Cupcakes. The whole segment of town is on a down-hill slant allowing onlookers to see the Bay from almost anywhere, (just as long as you were not standing right behind a building). At the end of the cobbled roads is a park “Boulevard Park” and it stretches along the beach with a playground and long grass filled fields, but the this park’s specialty is a very long wooden and concrete walkway which extends into the bay which is raised above the water on long wooden columns allowing you to look below in to the ocean and see many interesting creatures like starfish or crabs. This structure is named the “boardwalk” and is perfect for afternoon jogs or a nice peaceful walk. Boulevard Park absolutely the best place sunset admirers, and Bellingham sunsets are not just a sunset, they are legendary. A myriad of colors burst through the clouds yellow, orange, brown, purple, and red, perfectly mixed and displayed to give a sense of holiness.  At the boardwalk, whether you would like to gaze out from the thick grassy fields or, from the high wooden walkway, the view is dazzling.

The west side of Washington is known for its abundance of lush green forest shrubs, and tall firs. The tall green firs are everywhere, giving an extra secret beauty. Even twilight was filmed in Forks Washington on the peninsula of Washington, although not in Bellingham, the forest scenery is similar. Bellingham has patches of forest hikes an trails spread throughout the city each unique with its special qualities. Some of the most popular are the Lake Padden trails, the challenging Oyster Dome hike, and the lake Terrance hike. Trails range from forty-five minutes to hikes to about three hours, however I think everyone who has conquered these hikes have agreed that it was worth the time and effort. Not only is the hike great exercise and a nice stress reliever, but once you reach the top, you get some eye candy as well (talking about the forest and landscape just so we're clear).

Lastly, there is MIT baker. This Mt. gets the most snow in the world but is not widely known, making Mt. baker perfect for fun days of snowing without worry of overcrowding. On Mt. baker there are three resorts and s hotel so that when u aren't shredding the slopes, u have a nice comfortable lounge to eat freshly made burgers and specialty dishes. At Mt Baker, the powder is fresh, there are never too many people and there is always a guaranteed great time.

Bellingham is a perfect place for a nice visit of any length because there is always something to do. Whether it’s sailing, skiing, or just gazing out at the ocean, you can be assured there is always something else to do.
