Kerala, also know as " God`s Own Country", is one of the many states located in the cultured country of India. Though not the biggest amongst population, Kerala, my motherland, is considered one of the most cultured cities in India. Tradition, food, lifestyle, and many other keen characteristics are what bring thousands of tourist in the state. However, with it being a small state in the tremedous country of India, it is constantly overshadowed by the bigger states such as Mumbai and New Delhi, thus leading to a lack of popularity amongst a global scale.

Kerala should be considered a place that is filled with culture and experience. As soon as your plane lands in the state, your body is hit with a subtropical climate and your nose is flooded with diffrent flavors and smells from the unique Kerala cuisine. One of the most popular things to do in Kerala is to ride on the houseboats. Originally used to carry and transport rice and spices, houseboats are now used to carry adventerous people throughout the state. It is also unique for the fact that not even a single nail holds down the roof of the houseboat and is rather held down by knots. On the boats, they offer special Kerala cusine, such as, Karrimean( Fried Green Chromide), Baked Yuka Dish, as well as Biriyani ( Fried Rice). Going on the houseboat can be considered a 2 for 1, getting two great experiences all in one place.
Amongst people to meet, the native people is who i recomend seeing. Seeing how these people provide for their family through the means of farmwork and textiles is a tremendous experience. The lifestyle of living in Kerala may be tough to an outsider, but how natives look at it there is as if they are living at a vacation home. I mean they are surrounded by palm trees and water!
To conclude, visiting India is an experience. But, visiting Kerala is on a diffrent level of experience. The diffrent culture and unique lifestyle is what I believe puts Kerala apart from the other states in India. But that is my opinion. Let yourself be the one who decides on whether that is true or not!
