My Honduras journey was so fantastic…. I did many great things while there. Many days were tiring and some were fun. I never forgot the real reason we were there. The importance of this trip was to learn, explore culture, enhabce spanish skills and to work. I traveled to Honduras May the 29th with the spanish club from Greenville-Weston High School in Greenville,MS along with eight other students and two spanish teachers. We volunteered at the school where many of the poor kids attended. We took spanish classes to learn more spanish. We also did some fun things, for an example, horseback riding, went to Hot Springs, and many other things. It was very hot there. My self and the other eight students were able to stay with host families to experience their culture in their homes. It was great. I got a chance to taste a different kind of food and me lots of nice people. I got to shop and see alot of different things they have. One of my most funniest experiences were while I was going back to my host families home me and my roommate, we were trying to tell the taxi driver but what they call”tutus” in which direction the house was, but we couldn’t tell him in spanish, so after a hard time of trying to tell him, he started speaking in English and my roommate and I couldn’t do nothing but laugh. Overall, I had the most wonderful time in Honduras helping others, sharing my life with my host family and other things we did. My journey in Honduras is one I would never forget…
