These photos try to capture the essence of my short excursion to India this year to learn more about the polio effort and lend a helping hand by vaccinating children, consulting with the local health workers, offering continued support, and monitoring the progress of the initiative.

Many of these children were at the polio rally or at the immunization booths.
The markings on the door indicate the date of vaccination; most vaccination rounds in these high-risk areas occur monthly (or twice a month).
The lady in the niqab is a local health worker who is carrying the vaccine. I walked with her through one of the neighborhoods as she went family to family on immunization day.
